Take the Stand, MOM!

Writer's picture: Shannon KaliaShannon Kalia

Nov. 24, 2017 God revealed to me that I had unforgiveness towards my mom. The way our relationship is setup, I cannot possibly have that towards my mom. We are close, we do and go everywhere together. Shannon you are holding your mom accountable for things that happened to you in the past. You think a mom is supposed to protect her children not be with the man who is harming them. No, she stayed with a man who she knew was verbally and physically abusive to her and her children. Filled with so many empty threats her words held no weight. Then on this day is when I realized that I secretly hated my mom for staying with a man who was verbally and physically abusive. Finally it hit me, she was a victim as well. Trying to give her family what she never had, a two parent household, while suffering to maintain the perfect picture. She was coming from a broken place, so she attracted a broken man only to raise broken children. Mommy I´m sorry for judging you, thinking I am better than you and I would never do that. Who did I think I was, god? We all battle with something don´t be so quick to judge.
